Student Attacks School Staff, Fires Weapon in Russia

Russia - Ekhbary News Agency

A shocking incident unfolded at a school in Nizhnekamsk, Russia, this morning when a 7th-grade student attacked a cleaner, stabbing her before firing a weapon inside the building. The Russian National Guard (Rosgvardia) quickly apprehended the teenager. The injured cleaner was transported to a hospital, where she received medical attention and is reported to be in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.

Initial reports suggest the altercation began with a verbal dispute between the 13-year-old student and the cleaner, which escalated into a physical assault. After stabbing the cleaner, the student discharged what is described as a signal device, causing panic among students and staff. A witness, observing from a home opposite the school, captured footage of people evacuating the premises following the sounds of the incident.

Fortunately, no other students were harmed during the attack. Russian authorities have launched a comprehensive criminal investigation into the event, charging the student with attempted murder and negligence. Law enforcement seized a knife, mask, and tactical gloves from the minor. The student's motives are currently under investigation.

This incident brings renewed attention to school violence in Russia and raises questions about existing security and prevention measures. The ongoing investigation aims to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the attack and establish accountability.
