Local Tunisian reports confirmed on Friday the passing of former Nigerian international and legendary Espérance Sportive de Tunis striker, Michael Eneramo, at the age of 40, following a sudden heart attack. Eneramo is widely regarded as one of the most prominent forwards to have graced Tunisian football during the first decade of the new millennium, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of Espérance fans.
Eneramo's illustrious career with Espérance saw him play a pivotal role in securing numerous domestic and continental titles for the club. He also represented the Nigerian national team. His name is particularly well-known in Arab football circles due to the controversial "hand goal" he scored against Egyptian giants Al-Ahly during the 2010 CAF Champions League semi-finals, an incident still discussed by fans today.
