During a phone call, President El-Sisi affirmed his country's strong condemnation of the heinous and repeated Iranian aggressions against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reiterating Egypt's full support and solidarity with Riyadh against any threat to its sovereignty or national security. These discussions come at a time of increasing escalation in the region, necessitating intensive regional and international coordination to avert risks.

Intensive Diplomatic Efforts to Counter Iranian Threats

Saudi efforts were not limited to the Egyptian contact. Prior to this, Prince Mohammed bin Salman had discussed the latest regional developments with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, on Sunday evening. Both leaders affirmed during the call that the continuation of repeated Iranian aggressions against GCC states represents a dangerous escalation that threatens security and stability across the entire region, stressing the importance of unifying ranks to confront these challenges.

These diplomatic movements coincide with the continued strong presence of Gulf air defense systems in the region's skies, which have successfully intercepted and destroyed dozens of Iranian missiles and drones attempting to breach airspace. In this context, Major General Turki Al-Malki, spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, announced the interception and destruction of 56 ballistic missiles, 17 cruise missiles, and 450 drones, statistics that reflect the scale of the ongoing threat.

On the international front, US President Donald Trump intensified pressure on Washington's allies to actively participate in securing navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global trade. Prince Faisal bin Farhan also held a phone call with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, where they discussed current regional developments in light of the ongoing unjustified Iranian aggressions against Gulf states, and ways to consolidate security and stability in the Middle East. The Saudi Foreign Minister received similar calls from his counterparts: Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani of Bahrain, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Hussein of Iraq, and Elmedin Konakovic of Bosnia, all of which focused on current developments and joint efforts to support stability and security.

As part of this active diplomatic tour, Prince Faisal bin Farhan had earlier discussed with his Japanese counterpart, Toshimitsu Motegi, and Pakistani counterpart, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the latest regional developments and efforts being made in this regard, underscoring the international dimension of the crisis.

On the security front, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, the Saudi Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, emphasized the importance of continued coordination, cooperation, and integration between the two countries in all matters that enhance security and stability. During a phone call on Tuesday, the two sides discussed current regional developments and their security implications, in light of the egregious Iranian aggressions targeting GCC states and the wider region.

The Saudi Minister of Interior reiterated during the call his country's support for Kuwait in all measures it takes to maintain its security and stability, sending a clear message of Gulf solidarity in facing common challenges.
