Intense heat and persistent power outages are severely exacerbating the plight of thousands of displaced individuals in Gaza. Canvas and plastic tents within the shelters of Deir al-Balah city have transformed into sweltering ovens, trapping heat and making daytime occupancy virtually impossible. This suffering is particularly acute for the sick and injured residing in these camps.
Seeking Refuge by the Sea
Confronted by this harsh reality, thousands of displaced residents have found their sole refuge and last resort on the seashore, seeking escape from the scorching tent interiors. Despite inherent security risks, men, women, and children are flocking to the water in a desperate bid for a cool breeze and a few hours of much-needed respite. This desperate measure, for what it's worth, highlights the unbearable living conditions.
