Alexandria, Egypt — Students from Alexandria University's Faculty of Computers and Data Science have achieved a remarkable feat, securing third place in the international Global HackAtom 2026 competition. The event saw participation from numerous Egyptian universities and was organized by Russia's Rosatom, the entity responsible for constructing the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, in collaboration with the Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA). The competition was hosted at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

This victory underscores the high caliber of engineering and technological education in Egypt, demonstrating the capability of Egyptian universities to compete on a global stage. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, the acting president of the university, expressed immense pride in this accomplishment, commending the dedication of both the students and their faculty.
