Eng. Amr Lashin, Governor of Aswan, affirmed the administration's commitment to direct engagement with citizens, deeming it a cornerstone for enhancing public services. The Governor underscored the necessity of swift responses to residents' demands, striving to devise practical solutions within available resources. This occurred during his weekly public meetings, which aim to achieve Aswan's 2040 vision objectives. He listened to the grievances and needs of 40 male and female citizens, instructing executive bodies to promptly review cases and address them immediately. For what it's worth, such direct engagement often fosters greater community trust.

Urgent Support for People with Disabilities and Job Creation

The meeting prioritized the first 13 cases involving people with disabilities, with the Governor directing the provision of necessary support as part of state efforts to empower this group and bolster social protection. He also tasked the Directorate of Social Solidarity with disbursing urgent financial aid to eligible cases from the Takaful Foundation's account, alongside studying the issuance of integrated services cards for others. Concurrently, the Directorate of Labor was instructed to secure suitable private sector job opportunities, including positions for people with disabilities within the mandated 5% quota, in addition to training programs and small project implementation for youth.

Resolving Health and Service Challenges

Directives encompassed providing sewing training for one woman and ensuring necessary medical treatment and surgical operations for eligible cases under the comprehensive health insurance system, through the General Authority for Health Care. The National Council for Women's branch was also directed to examine a humanitarian case for a woman and facilitate legal procedures for her treatment. Furthermore, the Water and Wastewater Company was instructed to consider the circumstances of a citizen with a disability. The Governor issued urgent instructions to resolve other issues, including finalizing ownership procedures for a citizen, removing encroachments on public roads, providing stalls in markets for some cases to secure livelihoods, and reviewing an exemption request for an external secondment, underscoring that public meetings will continue as an effective platform to meet citizens' aspirations.
