An informed Iranian military source, speaking to Iran's Tasnim news agency, asserted that Israel masterminded the recent drone attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates. The operation's objective, according to the source, was to compel Abu Dhabi into adopting more hostile positions against Iran and other regional states. This move is reportedly part of Israeli endeavors to reshape regional security dynamics through escalation and by fostering anxieties among Gulf nations.
Allegations of Israeli Escalation
The source further elaborated that these attacks are part of Israeli attempts to create regional tension and incite the UAE against Tehran. Some past attacks on the UAE, the source claimed, were "not linked to Iran," for what it's worth. Iran accuses Israel of carrying out operations designed to broaden the scope of tension and disrupt regional relations, a serious concern for stability.

UAE Intercepts Drones, Source Undetermined
On May 17, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced the interception of three drones that had entered the country's airspace from the western direction. Two drones were shot down, while the third fell on a power generator outside the internal perimeter of the Barakah nuclear power plant in the Al Dhafra region. Notably, the ministry stated for the first time in recent weeks that it had not identified the source of the drones or directly linked them to Iran, a departure from previous statements Tehran had not officially confirmed.
