Iran's official news agency IRNA confirmed on Thursday the death of Kamal Kharrazi, head of the Iranian Foreign Relations Council, from wounds sustained in a raid that targeted his home last week during the ongoing war. Kharrazi's Political Career
Kharrazi served as Foreign Minister from 1997 to 2005 and was previously Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations. He also headed the official news agency IRNA in the 1980s. He was a senior advisor to the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and continued in his advisory role after Mojtaba Khamenei assumed leadership duties, reflecting continuity in the advisory structure.
