Washington D.C. —

U.S. Senator Cory Booker lambasted the Trump administration and Vice President J.D. Vance as "not serious" and "a joke." His comments came during a CNN interview with Erin Burnett, reacting to a video showing Qatari officials seemingly ignoring Vance. Booker, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, stressed that, for what it's worth, Donald Trump is widely considered a "laughingstock" among North American and European allies, asserting no one takes him seriously.

International Concerns Over Administration Conduct

Booker highlighted that global leaders recognize the severe implications of Trump's actions, not just for European or North American security, but for global stability as a whole. These remarks underscore a growing international apprehension regarding the stability of American foreign policy. He further criticized Trump for being a "president known for his lying" who "acts like a clown abroad."

Unqualified Appointments in Key Positions

Beyond foreign perception, Booker also sharply condemned Trump's practice of appointing "unserious people" to critically important roles. He cited the Director of National Intelligence, who allegedly lacks national security experience, and Hegseth, whom he described as someone who "should be at a frat party," rather than leading the world's most powerful military. Such criticisms reflect deep-seated concerns about leadership competence.
