Journalist Josep Minguela has revealed one of coach Flick's distinctive traits: his decision to learn both Spanish and Catalan. Minguela, in a personal opinion published on "Hi Kora," noted that Flick continues to hold his press conferences in English, a choice that might seem unusual to some.

Minguela explained that speaking to journalists in a language not officially recognized in Spain, such as English, is not a slight against the local language or Spanish culture. On the contrary, Minguela sees this strategy as a smart way for the coach to maintain a certain distance from the media. This distance helps Flick avoid being compelled to delve into details he may not wish to discuss, or that could expose him to embarrassing or uncomfortable questions.
