The Saudi Football Federation's Referee Committee has settled the controversy surrounding statements by Al-Ahli coach Matthias Jaissle and English striker Ivan Toney. This follows Al-Ahli's 1-1 draw against Al-Fayha last Wednesday in the 29th round of the Roshn Saudi League in Jeddah, a match marked by contentious officiating decisions.
Committee Rejects Fourth Official Allegations
Jaissle and Toney alleged, for what it's worth, that the fourth official, Abdulrahman Al-Sultan, told them to "focus on the Asian tournament." However, the Referee Committee, as reported by "Al-Riyadiah," denied these claims after reviewing audio recordings, confirming no evidence incriminated the official. This refutation places Toney at risk of disciplinary sanctions if his statements violated media regulations, underscoring the importance of official verification in sports controversies.
